Canadian oil companies need a supply of nearly 1 billion litres of biodiesel by 2012 to meet government mandated renewable fuel standards. With less than 100 million litres in domestic production and a growing global demand, BioStreet Canada’s 225 million litre “Vegreville Energy” biodiesel facility will represent 25% of the Canadian market. The project is scheduled for completion by 2011, and is perfectly positioned as one of the largest and most efficient biodiesel production facility in Canada.
The vision of BioStreet Canada Inc. is to become a Canadian leader in developing renewable fuel and energy projects to meet the rapidly growing demand for clean energy sources in Canada and around the world. The mission of Vegreville Energy is to create one of the largest biodiesel refineries in Canada while integrating efficiency measures including locally produced feedstock and energy efficient design. These measures will result in reduced operating costs, improved marketing leverage, and greater profitability.
