With climate change and peak oil looming above us, we can no longer rely on fossil fuels to meet our current and future energy needs. These issues, coupled with growing populations and economies around the world, pose massive challenges that require significant changes in how we use and generate energy. We will need to conserve as well as develop clean sources of fuel and electricity.

While biodiesel and other biofuels have the potential to make significant positive benefits on a global scale, it is crucial to ensure that environmental, social and economic benefits are equally considered, and that substantial lifecycle GHG reductions are realized. That is why BioStreet is pursuing a high level of sustainability in our industry, identifying multiple opportunities for greater energy efficiency, waste reduction, local procurement of feedstock and local customers for our end products. We know that biofuels are not the only solution, but a necessary part of the shift to a greener economy, and planet.
